SuperHuman Smoothie (2 servings)

1 cup organic coffee or Greenstar Swiss Water Process decaf, freshly brewed, then chilled overnight

1 cup Malk unsweetened almond milk or homemade almond milk

4 pitted organic Medjool dates or 2 teaspoons New Zealand UMF 20+ Manuka honey (A therapeutic honey that has been shown to relieve gastrointestinal disorders, staph infections, gingivitis, tooth decay prevention, allergies, and sore throats.)

3 tablespoons organic raw chia seeds

3 tablespoons organic raw shelled hemp seeds

3 tablespoons organic raw flax seeds

2 tablespoons organic raw cacao powder

2 teaspoons Sunfood organic raw Maca Extreme powder (Maca is a starchy root vegetable found in Peru that resembles a turnip; it may increase stamina and energy.)

2 teaspoons Om Organic Mushroom Nutrition cordyceps powder (a medicinal mushroom used to boost athletic performance)

2 teaspoons organic vanilla extract

1 package Organic America Micro Green Mix or Trader Joe’s Organic Micro Greens, frozen

8 ice cubes (spring, filtered tap, or AquaViable)

Mix the chilled coffee from the refrigerator made the previous night, almond milk, pitted dates or Manuka honey, chia seeds, hemp seeds, flax seeds, cacao powder, Maca Extreme powder, cordyceps powder, vanilla extract, frozen microgreens, and ice cubes in a blender; blend thoroughly on high until a smooth consistency is attained.

Keep in mind that this smoothie is not a substitute for hydration; on the court, consume adequate amounts of water (spring, filtered tap, or AquaViable). Research supports consuming the small amount of caffeine in this recipe before or during tennis match play to enhance physical performance and stamina. If you are sensitive to caffeine, try organic coffee that has been decaffeinated with the Swiss Water Process; this process uses only (pristine pure) water, not solvents, to remove 99.9% of the caffeine safely and gently without compromising flavor.
